Chennai | A 29-year old software engineer from Chennai had dumped his just four day old baby girl into a deep well and sleep nicely as if nothing has happened.

Niranjan Kumar, a 29-year old software engineer was gold medalist from BITS Pilani institute. He was employed as a software engineer in Bangalore and got married Sangeetha, a BE computer science graduate one year ago. Niranjan wanted his wife to work and was not ready to welcome a child before four years of their marriage but trouble begun when Sangeetha got pregnant only few months after their marriage.

Niranjan was not happy with the news and felt that their baby was the main culprit who kept his wife away from him. Later, Sangeetha went to her parents’ house in Chennai to deliver her baby and delivered a healthy baby girl on March 9.  Niranjan’s parents called Sangeetha after the delivery of their first grand child and even child’s father paid visit to his parents’ house. Everything seemed normal but things got changed when Sangeetha and other family members were fast asleep and Niranjan dumped his four-day old baby in a 30-feet deep well behind his house.

However, Sangeetha was shocked on not seeing the child at 3 am and asked Niranjan about it. Initially Niranjan did not answer her but later confessed of killing their child. He has been arrested and booked for murder charges.
