Shocking : NRI kills family, self due to US financial crisis

Los Angeles | Indian family in Los Angeles became target of US financial crisis.

A 45-year old Kartik Rajaram, an unemployed finanicial advisor became so exhausted due to financial difficulties that he killed his family of five. Body of Karthik found in one room and in other room bodies of his sons Arjuna, Ganesha, Krishna alongwith his wife Sabasri(39) and mom-in-law(69) have been found shot dead.

The Rajarams were well-settled family in US. Karthik Rajaram was an MBA with finance and was employed with PriceWaterhouseCoopers but financial problem started taking toll in the family when Karthik remained unemployed for several months.

Karthik wrote 2 suicide letters and a will before killing his family and taking his own life. Los Angeles police believed that he was depressed and thought that killing himself and his family was a good solution to end his financial crisis.

The family was resident at Sorrento Pointe, part of upscale Porter Ranch California. The house they lived in was rented.
