Man asked to pay wife's Australia ticket in divorce petition!

Ahmedabad | In a strange move in Ahmdabad family court, a man fighting divorce case has been asked to pay for Wife’s Australia trip in a divorce petition.

Jatin Shah, a 41-year old engineer got married to Bina Patel in 2002. Bina filed for divorce before moving in Australia last year. But when Jatin asked for cross examination of his wife Bina, court asked him to bear cost of his wife’s India visit from and to Australia.

Jatin claimed in his petition that his wife Bina did not declare her intentions to go abroad in her petition and even got the passport without declaring her married status. However Bina was detained at when she was about to board flight to Australia for not declaring her marriage in passport. Bina withdrew her divorce petition and returned back in Australia. But this is not over, Bina once again filed a fresh divorce petition against her husband Jatin when she came back in India and returned back again in Australia. During the hearing Jatin proposed that his wife also be cross examined for the divorce case, the courts then directed Jatin to bear travel expenses of his wife Bina if he wants to cross examine her.
