Why it is so important to meditate?
Human mind is most of the times surrounded by worries, tensions and anxiety. Meditation is art of silencing the mind. And when your mind is silent, you can concentrate more effectively on anything. It gives inner peace.
Initially, it is little tough to concentrate but more you meditate more your concentration will be. When you meditate, you come closer to your heart and that closeness gives you tremendous happiness.
When you meditate it requires efforts to control your thought so don’t just five up. Don’t be discouraged if your mind is cluttered with many thoughts. It takes time and practice. Meditation is most simple action to attain peaceful mind.
Your mind will not experience the same when you meditate. Sometimes its effortless concentration and sometime you really need to work hard like with your kid to attain the state of concentration and peace. But there is always a beginning so lets start now.
How to meditate
Like any other task, meditation requires practice. So do it everyday and you will be the master one day.
- The place is very important in meditation. It requires peace with no disturbance state that is the reason most of the people prefer doing meditation in the early morning.
- It is really a good idea to shower before you start meditating.
- Try to meditate in empty stomach as if you eat something your body will be busy in digestion and you will feel lethargic.
- Sit on some rug with straight back and close your eyes. Try to concentrate but be careful. It is very likely to fall asleep when you meditate. The best way to concentrate is to concentrate in your breathing. This concentration is very different then your relaxation of sleep. When you sleep you are not conscious but this is something that you are not sleeping but feeling as relaxed as you sleep. After some time you will feel a positive feeling flowing inside you and this feeling is really going to be a very unique if you are doing it for the first time.
- It is really not necessary to concentrate with candle but it gives you extra concentration power. It is really necessary to concentrate on one thing. As if you are meditating for the first time you will realize, your mind has many thoughts so its is a big exercise to focus on one thought.
- A best way to concentrate is to start chanting some mantra. Like many people start chanting “AUM” when they meditate. Repeating one mantra forces your mind to concentrate on single thought.

Many times we allow our mind to get upset with something very small. With meditation we learn to live in today and detach ourselves from past or future worries.
